openSenior Data Scientist

At Grupo AIA, we develop advanced software tools (based on optimization, simulation, and Machine Learning techniques) to solve our clients’ business challenges. We apply methodologies grounded in basic sciences, mainly Mathematics and Physics. Our ongoing mission is to bring ideas from the academic world into the industrial one, creating applications that are truly useful and impactful.

We are currently in a growth phase and are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to strengthen our Innovation team. We want someone with professional ambition, who enjoys tackling new challenges, and has the ability to lead innovation projects across different sectors, with a cross-disciplinary vision and a results-oriented mindset.

Working model:

On-site at our offices, with the option of a hybrid model (combining in-office and remote work depending on project needs).

Your role in the team:

• Lead Data Science projects from definition to delivery, ensuring both technical and business objectives are met.
• Understand client problems, translate them into viable technological solutions, and guide their successful development.
• Coordinate and support the technical team, fostering collaboration and excellence.
• Mentor junior Data Scientists, helping them grow and specialize.
• Collaborate in the proposal phase of new projects, participating in feasibility assessments and effort estimations.
• Explore new technologies and approaches, driving continuous innovation within the team.

Requirements:

• University degree in a technical field (Engineering or Basic Sciences).
• A PhD in a related field will be highly valued.
• Experience: PhD + at least 2 years in an industrial environment, or Master’s/Bachelor’s degree + at least 4 years of professional experience in Data Science or AI projects.
• Strong experience in Python, both in analytical development (data analysis, modeling) and in solution industrialization (pipelines, APIs, deployments, etc.).
• Proven experience leading Machine Learning, AI, or advanced analytics projects.
• Ability to combine solid technical expertise with business understanding.
• Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Curiosity, proactivity, and a constant desire to learn.
• Passion for innovation and willingness to step out of the comfort zone.
• Teamwork, coordination, and prioritization skills.
